Responsible for developing and maintaining U.Va. Innovation's strategic partnerships, Sharon A. Krueger serves as the strategic alliance liaison for University-wide partnerships with global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and with ATCC, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s largest biotechnology company. She has been instrumental in planning and managing University-wide events, such as the U.Va. Venture Summit, Entrepreneurship Cup concept competition, Innovation Roundtable seminar series, Hearst Business Media Design-Innovation Retreat and FDA/CDRH Medical Technology Innovation Partnerships workshops. In addition, she plans and oversees visits to the University by industry representatives, foreign delegations, journal/magazine editors and policy advisors.
Krueger participates on several science-related committees with the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), Southeast BIO and the Healthcare Leadership Council’s National Dialogue for Healthcare Innovation. She is involved with planning state-wide events to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, working with Governor McDonnell’s office and the Virginia Economic Development Office (VEDP) along with the Swedish and British Embassies and the FDA-CDRH.
Krueger previously served as assistant director of the Wallace H. Coulter Translational Research Partnership in the U.Va. Department of Biomedical Engineering. In the spring of 2011, the Coulter Foundation selected U.Va. as a recipient of a $10M endowment.
