Biography

David Hunt recently left his practice with White and Case in Washington, D.C., to pursue independent consulting. He is currently a principal consultant, legal and project finance, at Nexant, a provider of intelligent grid software and clean energy solutions. He is also a managing director at HLC, a professional services company that provides strategic advice and legal services related to energy regulation and policy.

While at White and Case, where he was a partner, Hunt maintained a broad transactional practice, working on general corporate representation, mergers and acquisitions, complex financings, offerings of notes, bonds and stocks, and various joint ventures and partnerships.

Hunt has been responsible for equity offerings in the United States and abroad in high technology, energy services and equipment leasing fields, as well as complex contract negotiations in information services, telecommunications, technology and other fields. Since 1986, he has served as an ex officio member of the board of directors, member of the executive committee and counsel to the Congressional Award Foundation, and as an ex officio member of the Congressional Award Board, an organization created by the United States Congress to encourage and recognize achievement and personal development among American youth. He is professionally affiliated with the Federal Energy Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association.

Hunt received his B.A. with high distinction from the University of Virginia and holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is also a Dillard Fellow.
